Patent Registration

The following documentation is required for patent registration.

Assignment Request Form

Instructions for completing the assignment request form to the customs broker to carry out foreign trade operations or its revocation.

  • Filling Date: The date of filling out the form should be indicated.
  • RFC Key: The RFC key of the importer must be indicated with thirteen characters for individuals and twelve characters for companies, leaving the first space blank.
  • Importer Identification Data: The name, denomination, or business name must be indicated as it appears in the RFC registration notice or, in case of changes, the updated registered information must be provided; indicate the registered fiscal address.
  • Assignment Details: The full name of the customs broker, customs patent number, or authorization of the broker must be provided, along with specifying the validity of the mandate. If the “Other” option is selected, the date for the mandate's termination must be indicated. The assignment will be valid once the authority incorporates the customs patent into the corresponding system. After incorporation, the customs broker must electronically accept or decline it, as established in rule 1.2.5.
  • Revocation of Assignment: The full name of the customs broker, the customs patent number, or authorization of the broker must be provided, along with the date (dd/mm/yyyy) from which the authorization to carry out foreign trade operations on behalf of the importer will be revoked.
  • Legal Representative Data: Clearly indicate the full name of the legal representative, their RFC key, email address, and Advanced Electronic Signature. Additionally, provide the public deed number, notary public's name and number, city, and date as per Article 19 of the Code.

This form must be registered as follows: Electronically via the SAT website at www.sat.gob.mx.

The ACOA will authorize the assigned customs brokers within 2 business days, starting from the day after the correctly completed form is electronically registered. The authority will recognize the assignment when it is available on the SAT website: www.sat.gob.mx.

Transport companies conducting consolidated cargo operations by land under the internal transit customs regime or internal transit import operations by rail must personally present or send by courier the document granting assignment to customs brokers to carry out their operations, stating the corresponding legend on the front lower part of the form, in accordance with paragraphs nine or ten of rule 1.2.5.

Important Note
A SEPARATE FORM MUST BE COMPLETED FOR EACH CUSTOMS BROKER ASSIGNED OR REVOKED TO CARRY OUT FOREIGN TRADE OPERATIONS.
